Mirabito Stadium | Binghamton, NY

The City of Binghamton contracted with Smith Site Development  to solve flooding in the Teams’ Dugout areas and other subterrain sections of Mirabito Stadium which in the past caused damage and cancellation of games during the 2021, 2022, and 2023 Seasons. At risk was losing the  Mets affiliate Double A Team. After an extensive study, it was determined to revamp the Storm water drain system by rerouting rain water from field and stadium structure to two  underground water retention systems, Installing back flow preventers and increasing the size the sump pumps and drain lines.

  • Install Storm System Catch Basins & Proper Sized Piping

  • Install back flow preventers at City Storm  System

  • Build   6,900 sf  Picnic Pavilion

  • New Asphalt Binder and Top 450 Tn

  • Striping

    • Parking Stalls

    • Handicap Parking Spots

Scope of Work:

  • Install Erosion Control & Protective Construction Fencing

  • Remove existing Sump Pump Stations and Clean existing underground Drains

  • Install three New Enlarged Sump Pump Pit areas, complete with sediment weirs

  • Install eight large Grinder Sump Pumps plus backups to handle flow

  • Box out Underground Storm Water Retention areas - 5,800  cy

  • Install Two Underground Storm Water Retention Systems - 11,600 sf
